THE MARKET THEATRELet's walk to the first performance venue that is; THE MARKET THEATRE

Co-founder and Artistic Director of the Market Theatre thought a visit to Joburg is incomplete without a night out at this internationally acclaimed theatre, made famous as one of the first integrated theatres, and which played a pivotal role in the struggle against apartheid through the encouragement of debate and challenging ideas. It houses three theatres, a bar and gallery. The complex still retains the ambience and spirit of a market place. It is infused with theatrical history, from posters of Athol Fugard plays that premiered there to Grammy and Tony-award winning musicals like sarafina. www.markettheatre.co.za

That's not all when it comes to performances, DANCE FACTORY;

This is a unique concept in fostering a dance culture and developing dance audiences in Joburg. Funded mainly by well-wishers, the Dance Factory has had success in establishment, equipping and administering of  a dance centre through classes, workshops and performances, and in particular to communities which have been culturally, educationally and economically disadvantaged. The dance factory frequently hosts performances by acclaimed local and international dancers

Lastly not far from The Dance Factory we have on of South Africa's Hailed premier live music brands,for live music and event production. Most events take place in this venue and ones that are said not be missed out on. From it's inception as an inyimate jazz club in Melville to it's current incramation in Newtown,it now has a venue capacity of 1000 hosting events from kwaito to jazz for variuos audinces,Im talking about BASSLINE. "Personally i have been here and experienced one of the greatest perfomances by well-known band Bongo Muffin and upcoming artists the loud music and performances was amazing,i was in awe and i felt the vast cultural aspesct of performers and their performances."
